Rare pictures of the World's tallest man almost 9 feet tall
Robert Wadlow born and raised in Alton, Illinois, US is the tallest man to have ever lived. While an average size of a human being is six feet, he was eight feet 11.1 inches. Born in 1918, he passed away when he was 22-year-old.
These are some of his pictures that were recently unearthed-:

On his first birthday, he was 3 feet-3.5 inches tall. When he turned eight, he exceeded 5 feet, 11 inches his father's height.
According to Guinness World Records when he turned 13, he was the tallest Boy Scout in the world, 7 feet, 4 inches. When he was in graduation he was 8 feet, 4 inches.

His clothes and shoes were customised. He died due to an ill-fitting brace. He weighed 220 kg at his death. Despite his dramatic height (eight feet 11.1 inches at his tallest), Wadlow was known as a quiet man, beloved by those in his hometown of Alton, Illinois.

More than 8000 calories was consumed by him on a daily basis. It was more than three times the amount an average-sized male should consume. By age the age of nine, he managed to lift his father up the stairs of his home.

After his primary engagement with the circus, he went to school, theatres and lecture hall and spoke to young people. The above picture was clicked when reached New York City in 1937.

He needed a custom-made size 37 AA shoes and he had to spend four times the amount spent on regular items. A coffin of 11 feet long was required for the last ride.
His large frame made his leg lifeless and it was difficult for him to walk, but he preferred walking on his own rather than using a wheelchair.
In the year 1936, he was spotted by Ringling Brothers circus and was recruited for a travelling circus. Over the years he turned a crows puller and became a celebrity.

He was diagnosed with hyperplasia of the pituitary gland causing him to attain the abnormal hight. He has excessive human growth hormones in his body.
